The Dutch delta commissioner Mr. Wim Kuijken’s keynote speech
The Dutch delta commissioner Mr. Wim Kuijken spoke as a keynote speaker at the River Basin and Delta Management Workshop of the World Water Week in Singapore.
As Delta Programme Commissioner Wim Kuijken will draw up, update and implement the Delta Programme on behalf of the cabinet. Including its financial consequences. The Delta Programme involves the long-term safety of our country and its freshwater supply. Mr Kuijken has been appointed for a term of seven years.
During his speech he mentioned: “The Netherlands Water Partnership is such a network that brings together the private sector, government, knowledge institutes and NGOs. As a matter of fact, in partnership with Singapore’s Water Agency PUB, it will open the Netherlands Water House here in Singapore this week, to enhance collaboration, and with a focus on the Asian region.”
The Dutch Chamber of Commerce (S) and The Netherlands Water House in Singapore have set-up a joint-water committee to add value and promote Dutch & Singapore business in the region. The joint-committee / interest group will facilitate several events during the SIWW 2010.
