Role and Purpose
Consistent with the overall objectives and purpose of DutchCham, the Life Sciences & Nutrition Committee aims to being a business network and platform by connecting Dutch and Singapore businesses and creating business opportunities to facilitate and promote Dutch business in Singapore.
We aim to:
- Promote Dutch economic interests and scientific collaboration through regular dialogue and relevant business and industry events in close cooperation with the Dutch Embassy, the EuroCham Life Sciences Committee and networks like BioSingapore and Dr Bibber.
- Provide our members with a channel of communication – through EuroCham – of known positions on key issues of importance to the Dutch, European and Singaporean political and economic authorities and business associations.
- Provide our members with a platform – through the DutchCham e-newsletter and committee website – to share their particular skills and knowledge of the Life Sciences & Nutrition industry.
In pursuing these aims, we will:
- Engage in dialogue and advocacy with key audiences.
- Support the exchange of know-how and best practices.
- Confer with the Life Sciences Committee of EuroCham to invite participation from DutchCham members in identifying, understanding, formulating and disseminating key issues and positions. For example:
- Legal/IP aspects of pharmaceutical production, distribution of medicines in South East Asia, market access, mutual recognition between the EU and South East Asia, Research & Development, costs (production), infrastructure, support industry (engineering/supplies), manufacturing, etc.
- Keep the DutchCham Board informed of our activities and consult with the Board on a quarterly basis.
Scope – subject matter and geographical coverage
Our scope, in line with EuroCham, includes pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, medical devices, nutrition, Research & Development, and supporting industries. Our geographical remit is Singapore and ASEAN economies when relevant.
