Chairman’s Blog

For a while now you are all being served by the brand new DutchCham web-site and the regularly appearing newsletter, I can hardly add anything to the steady flow of information that we create from our editing offices. The events that we plan on our own or together with other organizations have become plentiful, In line with the strategies of our Ministry of Economic Affairs and our Embassy in Singapore, our committee’s and project teams have conspicuously created a buzz in their respective industries and our executive director continues to inform you of relevant business news, providing links to interesting stories and comes up with ever new creative ways to make your membership count with hefty conference discounts and other enticing little entitlements that only you, as a member of the DutchCham, have access to.
Alas, enough complaining. A great welcome to the Dutch athletes and their coaches. It is exhilarating to see everyone come together and celebrate, together with Singapore, these first ever Youth Olympic Games.
Let’s see, what else…our executive director became a father on August 10th, our treasurer got married and scaled Kilimanjaro, I was absolutely thrilled to carry the Olympic Flame (for a hundred meters) and Kees and his wife Priscilla have yet again organized a visit for “their” children from Cambodia. Please continue to visit our website, follow us on Twitter, LinkedIn or Facebook and don’t miss out on our September activities, this year’s Formula 1 being the most noisiest one!
Last but not least, my heartfelt gratitude goes to our founding members, for their loyalty and financial support but most of all for believing in the DutchCham and I thank all of you who have contributed with your suggestions and comments.
My thanks to my fellow board members…it will just become a little harder but hold on to your hats, if you are in control you are not going fast enough! (F1 saying).
