EuroCham launches the “Schuman Lecture Series” to promote Europe in Singapore and to commemorate the remarkable achievements of European integration since its modest beginnings in the European Coal and Steel Community in 1951. On Monday 7th December 2009, EuroCham will organize its first “Schuman Lecture” event with Guest of Honour President Romano Prodi, former President of the European Commission (1999-2004), and former Prime Minister of Italy.

The Netherlands Embassy in Jakarta, in partnership with the Netherlands Embassy in Singapore, the Indonesian Netherlands Association (INA), and the Dutch Chamber of Commerce in Singapore (DutchCham), supported by the Batam Industrial Development Authority (BIDA), is organising a business mission to the province of the Riau Islands. The aims of the trip are as follows:

 

  • to seek opportunities available in the Riau Islands;
  • to present Netherlands companies to the Riau Islands authorities and businesses.

 

The mission will be held on 11 – 12 November 2009 in Batam and Bintan islands. It is a full two-day mission, led by the Netherlands Ambassadors to Indonesia and Singapore, designed to gain a lot of information about the development and infrastructure opportunities in the Riau Islands, and to establish contacts with Provincial VVIPs and Batam based companies. The delegation will also visit the province’s main planned infrastructure projects and manufacturing bases. He has been Country Head Private Banking for ING Barings Private Bank (Switzerland) Ltd for three years and has performed the role of interim general manager for F. van Lanschot Bankiers (Switzerland) Ltd. In between he has had his own consultancy business for a number of years focusing at Business Process Outsourcing for Private Banking.
