New Deputy Head of Mission of the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands
Pauline Eizema started working as the new Deputy Head of Mission of the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Singapore in July 2010. She will be the head of the economic cluster in the Embassy, which deals with trade, science and technology, investment and agriculture.
Pauline is a career diplomat and Singapore is her fifth posting. After completing her diplomatic training in 1995, she started working in the European Union department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Her first foreign posting was in London, after which she went back to the Ministry to work on debt relief for developing countries. Before coming to Singapore, she represented the Netherlands at the United Nations in New York.
Pauline studied economics in the Universities of Tilburg and Bologna (Italy) and completed the postgraduate economics course at the College of Europe in Bruges (Belgium). She is married and has two young daughters.
