Singapore and Dubai sign maritime MoU
SINGAPORE: The Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore (MPA) and the Dubai Maritime City Authority have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to foster closer maritime relations.
Under the agreement, both sides will explore opportunities for collaboration in the area of planning and regulation of marinas and waterways. Other possible areas of co-operation include promoting maritime environment protection as well as conducting maritime training and research.
MPA said Singapore was keen to strengthen its ties with the Middle East, a strategic region for the country.
Beyond this agreement, MPA said it has worked with the United Arab Emirates in enhancing the safety of navigation and protection of marine environment.
